Common psychology degrees are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology - This degree takes four years to complete and graduates either move on to a higher degree or take jobs in areas like management, sales, statistics, public relations, probation and corrections, health education, social work and human resources,

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology -  This degree takes about 2-3 years after a bachelor’s degree and is the most popular since it offers you most job options in the field. Graduates often are employed in managerial positions in mental health agencies, government, business, social services or human resources.

  • Ph.D.  in Psychology - This degree can take around four to seven years to complete after a graduate degree and prepares you to work in research or academia as well counseling.

  • Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) - This degree takes about four to seven years and prepares you for the professional practice of clinical psychology or counseling.
